The Hermitage

The Hermitage is not a book or even something you can read. It’s just the name of my new house I’m going to move in to on Monday. I’m really excited to have my own room where my younger siblings can’t annoy me and I can evade my older sister duties. We will have a really big garden which is super useful, especially in the summer. My parents decided to move there because they wanted to live close to a school called Riddlesdown which is where they want me and my siblings to go after primary school, but also still able to go to New Valley, our curent school. My room is looking really great. I have birds on my ceiling and two of my walls have been painted blue. Although I’m excited I am going to miss this house. I knew we couldn’t stay there forever since we were renting, but I really don’t want to leave. There are so many things I am going to miss about this house like the huge apple tree in the garden and our secret hideout I’m still looking forward to moving though.

  1. I loved this piece of your writing, Anaia. You have captured your mixed emotions very well and very maturely. Much love, Nana

  2. Awww….Anaia of course you will miss this house where you spent three wonderful and fun years. We will all miss the beautiful forest walks and the lovely park next door. But nothing beats having your own room which is so beautiful and the a gorgeous garden view. Good luck settling in. Can’t wait to see Hermitage soon Insha Allah! Love you
